This terminal is the only terminal on the north side of the River Thames with the capability to handle deep sea vessels, using a conveyor system with up to 4,000 tonnes per hour throughput.

In 2023, the Port of Tilbury invested to enable a 27-year deal with Aggregate Industries, which will see them establish a low carbon cement grinding plant at Tilbury1.

We are also invested in further developing our rail facilities, with the installation of a new railhead at Tilbury2, alongside redevelopment of existing railheads at Tilbury1.
